Time

They say that time’s a thief.

I disagree, it’s life’s greatest gift.

Now, grief, that’s another story. Reeling and reliving moments passed, while the world around carries on, slowly creeping toward inevitable endings.

I’ve lost full years to sadness, the darkness swallowing me whole, day by devastating day.

Addiction too, a sticky web.

A neverending cycle of abuse, an abandoning of self.

Time is an asset, unknown, mysterious, yet limited.

Our most valuable resource, the most tossed away of them all.
